Chronicles of a girl who consumes (a lot)
Rhode's new lip tint, Tik Tok bingeing & Outer Banks discourse
Growing up, I bonded with my mum over reality TV — Keeping Up with the Kardashians and Real Housewives were our thing. I signed up for every social platform I could find, mostly to stalk celeb crushes (I had a pretty intense boyband-obsessed phase). I spent hours scrolling through Tumblr, WeHeartIt, and eventually, Twitter (when it was still in its prime), Pinterest, and Instagram. So, it's no surprise that years later, I ended up in marketing.

Welcome to today’s episode of a girl who consumes a lot of content for work (but mostly for fun).
Let’s start with creators I’m currently obsessed with:
First up is Kat. Her editing skills? Chef’s kiss. Her personality is infectious, and honestly, she's making me like food again, which is saying something, given my love-hate relationship with it. Yes, I binge-watched all her videos—no regrets.
While we’re on the topic of food, am I the only one feeling like there’s no good food to eat in Lagos? I’m desperate—please send help and recommendations. This video from Tolu (@aneatersplayground) made me feel less crazy.
I’ve been contemplating cooking more, hence the binge on Kat's content and other food creators. There has to be more to life than fries, burgers, and pizza (I know, I have the palate of a child). I love Roti Brown’s approach to cooking content—it’s so simple and refreshing.
Next is
. I found her here but quickly fell in love with her TikTok breakdowns. She shares what’s cool & chic on Instagram, current trends, and all the stuff that media-obsessed girls like me thrive on. Other honorable mentions: Olivia—specifically her celebrity breakdowns and how-to-build-your-personal-style tips. Another Substack/TikTok fave, —I recently caught up on her content, which led me down a rabbit hole of rewatching all her videos. (Don’t judge; I have an obsessive personality but, I promise, not in a weird and creepy way). Not me being happy over a stranger’s coat purchase (When you see the coat, you’ll get it).Funke shared about experiencing a rut, and honestly, I can relate. Maybe it’s just because the year is coming to an end, but I’ve been wrestling with feelings of boredom. It was a reminder to play more and do something fun just because. (Still contemplating what that might be...)
My queen,
recently bought a new house and has been sharing the inspo behind her renovation process. I’ve been enjoying the series so far. Can’t wait to see how it all comes together. Also, can we please bring back color in this life? Not everyday neutral (I beg).
I’ll say it every time—research is essential, not just in work but in life overall. Expanding your knowledge should be a vital life skill. This creator shared a video on how we should normalize research as a leisure activity, and honestly, yes!!! Let’s bring back the joy of learning, please.
On the brand/social front:
Rhode’s new cinnamon roll-inspired lip tint—I’m obsessed with the art direction of the shoot. It captures cozy fall/winter vibes so perfectly. And can we talk about the collab with Community Goods to create a cinnamon-inspired fall drink? I’m just glad it wasn’t another Erewhon smoothie moment. No shade, because I love them, but it’s refreshing to see some differentiation. Watched a few influencers try it, and once again, Rhode excels at tying product launches to immersive experiences, offering their audience not just a product, but an incentive—a true Hailey Bieber-inspired moment.

The Dolce & Gabbana x Skims collab just makes sense. It itches a part of my brain I really can’t describe, and Kourtney in the campaign just elevates it. As someone who grew up watching KKW, there’s something nostalgic about this campaign that reminds me of the duo’s power looks. (Could just be me)

Emma Chamberlain’s recent collab with Warby Parker. I’ve always been a glasses lover, so I’m happy that wearing them is becoming cool again. That was the entire concept behind this launch, which I found really interesting. Emma’s creative direction when it comes to her collabs is always something to look out for, and this one, of course, didn’t disappoint.

On the topic of the art of collaborating - this HURR article gets into what makes a really great partnership featuring thought leaders and industry tastemakers.
All the gift-guide content on socials—I thoroughly enjoyed Trademark’s very own
’s Into The Gloss recs and ’s pretty things but not essential series.Holiday campaign photography is everywhere, and I’m not complaining. Especially the ones that stand out within all the noise.

Of course, Jacquemus' rollout for their new London store was a masterpiece. Their creative and production team works hard.
A good product is great, but effectively communicating its quality through creative content is even better. Seventh nailed this with a video featuring women across different age groups, ethnicities, and personalities to spotlight their new bag. (The African aunties were my favourite haha)
Zendaya in this Alaia soft pink two-piece.
Loved these colourful and sporty looks from the recent Lisa Folawiyo show.

A new concept store, Gather House, just opened in Ikoyi. It’s definitely on my list of spaces to visit. (Will let you know how it goes.)
What I’ve been reading & watching:
Part 2 of the latest season of Outer Banks—I think everyone on the internet agrees: it’s a shame, that’s all I’ll say. I don’t mind a spoiler, but I wouldn’t be the one to do that to you—go watch it for yourself. I happily enjoyed all the TikTok discourse though. What could have led to this really big decision that I think could break the show? Not sure I’ll be watching Season 5, which is sad because I was such a fan.
Re-reading ACOTAR just to feel something. Skipped the first one because we all know the second book is where it really starts.
Just finished 7th Time Loop: The Villainess Enjoys a Carefree Life Married to Her Worst Enemy (This cured my romance withdrawals—they were so cute, and the FMC had substance. It always makes for a hard watch when she doesn’t.)
This article by
on the art of slow becoming. SO good, I read it twice to let it sink in!
Random thoughts:
As an avid jewelry lover (and frequent loser—silver only), I’ve finally decided to get myself proper storage to break this terrible habit. (RIP my faves.)
Both pieces are from Urban Splurge. I’m working on rebuilding my collection and getting the right storage. (We’re doing better this time.) I’ve been contemplating a box, but since I don’t wear that much jewelry daily, I think a jewelry plate could be cute because I love dainty things. Inspired by this video— could even make it an activity with friends. (I’ll let you know how that goes.)
Here’s my inspo:

Also a not-so-subtle *cough cough* hint to my friends and family to know what’s on my wishlist. First up is Heaven Mayhem's new Icon watch in silver. Love the vintage look with the leather strap and silver detail. The gold was cute, but if there’s a silver/metallic option, I’m always going to lean towards that.

Highly coveting their Good Girls Go to Heaven ashtray. Not a smoker, but I think it’d be so cute on a bedside table/vanity.
Adding this to my list of things I love—an honorable mention to the brand founder, Pia Mince. Love her aesthetic, the storytelling, and the creative direction behind HH. I stare at their feed regularly.
Well, that’s all for now, till next time xx.
Obsessed with this!
This was such a great read! So many things i'd missed but got to discover 🥰
